Last night Tony and I were at our friend's for a meal. We took the car and left it at their house so I didn't have to walk both ways in the snow and ice. This morning, Tony walked around to collect it and was gone quite a while. On his way around to Jayne and Paul's, an older lady (81) asked him whether the bus has gone round (it does a circular route). They chatted a bit and then Tony walked on. He never uses the buses so had no idea what time it was due. On his way back with the car the lady was still standing at the bus stop. He stopped and asked where she was going and asked if she would like him to give her a lift. She gratefully accepted as it would be an hour till the next bus came around. My lovely kind hubby was only around the corner from home but took the lady into town which was a good fifteen minutes drive away... I realise in this modern day world we aren't supposed to accept lifts from strangers which is really sad as it is only a very tiny percentage of people would cause someone harm.... Tony was more than happy to take the lady into town... he's kind that way...
